Finally got my new 6wb from Latvia. Customs had it for a week due to a lack of an item description from the seller or some b.s. Then FedEx refused to deliver it because they couldn’t figure out my building’s buzzer system (UPS/USPS never has issues), so I had to drive an hour to go pick it up. And then the cherry on top was that one of the nuts that the two cluster screws go into dislodged itself during the install and fell behind the cluster all the way down somewhere behind the driver footwell so I’m sure that will remain hidden forever and randomly rattle when I least expect it. Good times. Honestly it was worth all the stress because I adore how it looks. kubax86 will be coding it for me later today.

are you gonna code in the compass on 6wb? it's what i default the little bottom section to, instead of the trip/odometer. |

After the real coding was done I went into bimmercode to fiddle with it more but didn’t see a compas option. Is it in expert mode?

Any idea if it’s possible to get an M Performance logo at start up like it was with the 6wa? I coded it but it just says M550d on the cluster now, the start logo didn’t change as far as I can tell.

i'm still upset about the right gauge being blank and not displaying the gear I'm in, when in Sport mode. i was hoping coding could fix that and there was an option to display gear, but nope. 6MT guys got screwed big time there. Like I paid $1100 for a digital gauge cluster, thanks for the huge waste of blank space BMW, really giving me money's worth there... |

i still think it’s a good purchase and all, i wouldn’t not buy it just because it didn’t seize its full potential as a digital cluster. it’s still very nice eye candy to look at.

Very true. I still wouldn't go back to a 6WA lol. It does make the dash look more modern.

Thought i had bricked headhunt after Bimmercode crapped out on me and the headunit wouldn't power up. Managed to get everything working with ISTA which was a massive relief.

Cracked front lip while parking….curb + freezing temps was not good for the polypropylene. Took it off, probably will consider replacing after winter.

I had a scare like that once due to a dropped connection. Switched to a physical connection (enet cable + phone adapter) and no problems since. Also it reads the ecu’s and codes MUCH faster.
