Big props to you my friend for helping! Much appreciated.

Actually VO'ing FEM_BODY came in handy as I made a change but was not sure if I did the right one so I just reset everything again and started all over just to be sure.

Again, big time thanks!

No problem. Just hope you didn't freak out too much before you hit that code button.

I believe this would work on both since they share the same bulb type. I just picked up some LEDs for the turn signals and outer brake. I'm looking forward to installing them soon.

Finally got around to testing out if variable light distribution worked after I coded out option 84S. Here is a video showing how the lights move. You can see how the headlights center themselves when I put the car in reverse and spread out when I put the car in drive.

Do you have Drivers Assistance Plus package or no? Having a hard time determining whether or not you need the KAFAS/FLA Camera for this to work.

I dont have that package or high beam assist. All I did was delete option 84S and VO coded FEM_BODY.

Interesting, so really anyone with an F32 or F36 can do this then. I guess really anyone in the US with Xenons since all F3X with Xenon are adaptive.

What exactly does this feature do? Something about speed sensitive-ness? So much BMW lighting tech mumbo jumbo out there.

I ask about the FLA camera because the F30 Coding Guide says this:

"Active Variable Light Distribution

Variable Light Distribution requires a FLA/KAFAS camera to be installed in the vehicle. This allows the light beam to adapt according to vehicle speed. When driving in the city, a low beam is used to beber illuminate the road immediately ahead without dazzling oncoming drivers. Then at higher speeds, the headlamps are raised to increase visibility.

MODIFY THE READ FA - Remove 8S4 from the vehicle FA.
VO CODE - FEM_BODY and FLA/KAFAS2 (whichever you are equipped with)."

I believe the camera is needed for high beam assist + variable light distribution.

Without the camera, the headlights adjust only to speed changes.

From a BMW press release:
The road speed dependant system automatically enlarges the driver’s field of visibility by broadening the light beam, or the "footprint" of light.

In a typical city night-time driving situation at speeds below 50 km/h, the system ensures a broader distribution of light making it easier to recognise objects on the oncoming side of the road.

In freeway mode, the driver's field of vision is extended by giving the light beam a longer range, and again offering greater illumination on the far side of the road.
Activation of the fog lamps at speeds of up to 70 km/h also generates broader light distribution and brightens up the area close to the car.

At higher speeds, the headlight range is also extended over and above the broader distribution of light.

Love your car.
When are you planning to put lamin x on your headlight? I would love to see how that comes out.

Just got my 3.5" Cyba tips. Overall, good quality. These are beefy compared to the stock ones. I'm excited to get these installed:
