I just went catless downpipes and I really like the new sound but I'm looking for a little more and I might just do it at the same time as tips.
I removed my mufflers awhile ago, just added tips yesterday.
I don't have downpipes so muffler delete is good enough for me.
I don't have any sound clips but there are plenty on youtube!

Just a heads up for anyone considering them.
I had the same problem. I received mine with scratches on the lip. You can see the scratches in the URL below. I had to sand the. Out and then polish the tips. They look like new again.

The local mieneke shop gave me an estimate of $300 to install the tips! I have a guy that usually does my welding but it takes a while to get on his schedule. Guess i dont have much of a choice at that price. Maybe I will try those exhaust clamps down at the autozone.

Holy shit! $300 is ridiculous! There are no other shops in your area? You should pay around $50 at the top end.

I just bought a set of these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/270651501432...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

They were a little more expensive than the ones originally posted, but they're pretty good quality. They look fairly close to Dimisa tips, at a fraction of the cost.

I haven't gotten them installed yet, but I can't wait!

Nice, they look very similar to the ones we got except a little longer.

It's nice that the seller was located in the US rather than China, in case something was wrong with them.

Post pics when you get them on.

^^Yep, I wanted to buy from a US supplier. So, I was willing to pay a bit more. They're 8" long, and 2nd wall is open. They're pretty nice for $80-ish.

I don't understand why folks pay the premium for Cyba and Dimisa when there are far less expensive options out there.

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread!

8" long may be a bit much. The ones I bought are 7" and the guy at the exhaust shop told me he tucked them in as far as he could...

Yea, it may have been a little less than that. I think the biggest delay was the package sitting in customs for a few days.

I noticed all you guys installing these 4" ebay tips have aftermarket rear bumpers. Is that because they won't fit on the stock bumper?

I have a 2008 335i Sedan and would like the $30 4" tips for my car but I'm concerned they won't fit on my stock bumper.

I have an aftermarket bumper because my car was rear ended. I'm not sure about the fitment on a stock bumper. A search might get you an answer. Good luck.

I'm having mine installed on a stock bumper this week. I will post some picture once it's done.

I have received the tips and put the new Mtech bumper on yesterday. had a quick look at the stock tip while at it, but could not figure out if it needs to be cut off? Can experienced people explain this a bit to me? and how do you decide where to start cutting if it's that case? I got the magnaflow one by the way. Thanks in advance.

Yea, it needs to be cut off and the new one welded on.

Had these installed today, cost me 40 bucks and was pretty simple.

It wasn't however, a straight swap. The shop had to expand the part of the tip that joins the existing pipe coming from the muffler in order to get it to fit. They also had to trim a bit to get the tips to sit straight.

Nothing too difficult but just a heads up. They look great, ill post pics when it stops pouring rain.

My install got pushed out to next tuesday. My first quote was $300 at midas. My last quote was $125. Both said they need to lower the exhaust to properly weld the tips on.

That's ridiculous! The tips do not have to be welded on 360 degrees. Mine are welded about 120 degrees around the pipe. No need to drop the exhaust.

Since the outlet pipe will be sitting inside the inlet to the tip there will be no leakage
