Kenwood Shallow 8" sub will it fit??
I just got my 2009 BMW 128i, and two of the factory speakers are blown, so I am just going to do my full upgraded system right now. I already have the speaker picked out CDT speakers all around TW-22 tweeters, CL-41 mids in the back, and CL-4 slim line in the front. Amp is Kenwood XR-5S class D. I have a harness on order from Technic. Now the subs.
I have been reading a lot about replacing the factory 8" subs. I know the earthquakes will fit but be lacking a bit in the mid bass which is important for the hard rock/metal I usually listen to. I have also read about the Jehnert, and I am not sure if the will give me the low bass I want. I stumbled upon the Kenwood KFC-XW800F... http://www.kenwood.ca/Car_Entertainm...ers/KFC-XW800F 40-500Hz frequency response 2 3/4" mounting depth 150 Watts RMS I think I might have to use a spacer of 1/2"-5/8" to get these to fit properly. Is there space for this sub, or will it hit the seat rail, or something else?? Looks like it might be a good solution if it will work. In my last cars I had a Hertz Mile 10", and before that a TC sounds TC10 OEM with a passive radiator. I am not expecting the same level of performance, but I want to get a really good sounding system that has some punch in the low frequencies. Any thoughts, or recommendations would be great!!! Edit - No it will not fit. I tried. Last edited by guitarguylp; 10-08-2012 at 12:37 PM.. |

I have also been looking at Morel CAW938, MW-266, and H8.1
8 ohms won't matter since my amp is rated the same at 4 ohms, and 2 ohms, and I am going to run two of them in parallel. Anyone have experience with these subs?? |
Appreciate
