[Help] driver airbag deployed, do I also need to replace seatbelt & pre-tensioner?

Need some advices here-

Recently I bought a 2009 BMW e93 335i, front collision caused driver's airbag deployed. I replaced the airbags already, but now I see there is seatbelt light in the dash even I buckled up. Wonder if there is something deployed in the seatbelt system along with the airbag explosion during accident.

questions -

1. Does the driver seatbelt / pre-tensioner need to both be replaced, or just the pre-tensioner?

2. Given only driver's airbag deployed, would the passenger seatbelt/pre-tensioner and rear seat's seatbelts/pre-tensioners be fine?

Many thanks Bimmers.

Did a visual inspect. apparently the driver seat's pre-tensioner was deployed (it looks 2 inches shorter than the passenger side). At least this buckle tensioner needs replacement. Checked on BMW catalog, interestingly this part is different on e90/92 vs. e93, but I really doubt it. Ordered on for e92 via eBay, see how it fits.

About the seat belt itself, it pulls smoothly, and if I pull fast it can lock it. So I assume the belt is fine.

Update:

Now I figured out what need to be replaced if airbag deployed in collision (let's use example of driver airbags deployed):
0. Airbag of course.

1. seat belt pre-tensioner ( the one you buckle up your seatbelt in it, on the right side of the car cushion)

2. Seat belt itself. can send out for rebuild, or buy used from eBay or elsewhere.

3. The battery Positive terminal cable (BST terminal), which has an explosive device to disconnect the cable internally , triggered by airbag signal. (error code 93B2). This BST terminal cable on e93 is unique, it's not the same as the one from e90/e92.

4. If the active headrest is also deployed, then inside the headrest there is a explosive device too, you need to replace it.(error code 93ae for driver seat, 93af for passenger seat) - part #: 52109169585 (Repair kit, crash-active head restraint).

Otherwise, you will always get the airbag light and seatbelt light on the dash.

don't think so, unless you tell the exact reason why it's not good. I have the airbag in the steering wheel replaced.

why the rear seats seatbelt need to be replaced? If the seats was vacant when collision happened?

I bought my e90 2006 CPO back in 2008 seriously within two weeks of buying it I was driving down the road and a car pulled out of a parking lot crossing my path attempting to go the other direction. I t-boned his rear quarter panel. hard did $15k in damage (I paid $28k) My car wasn't totaled and I took it to the one certified BMW repair shop in town.

Side note the other guy was drunk and kept going I called the local police and said he is on the same road as the Police department and heading your way. They quickly caught up with him he attempted to elude hit a few more cars in the chase. Fortunately the person he borrowed the car from had insurance that made good... he got deported.

They specifically noted that there isn't rear seat sensors on the rear seats and they often get overlooked in getting fixed but do have a one time use tensioner tied to a collision.
I also questioned the need to replace the steering wheel as it wasn't like I impacted it as the seat belt and airbag did it's job. After they went through the details as to why I was like ok if I'm replacing it then I want a Sport steering wheel and they accommodated (I paid the difference) even changing the order to a Sport airbag.

The insurance completely backed the shop up and paid for all those repairs and expenses in replacing rear seatbelts steering wheel etc...

Please do your diligence and check with others this is just my personal experience. I'm clearly not an autobody expert.

I was able to find the root cause of the 'airbag /seatbelt warning light still on' -

Turns out the wire in the active headrest of the passenger seat, was broken. The SDS control module gauge the resistance value through the wire, a broken wire definitely will throw error code on the dash.

I was able to weld the wires back together, and now the dash is clean, no more any SDS warning lights what so ever.
