Any way to disable autodimming mirrors?

I'm looking to disable my auto dimming mirrors, all of them. I have tint on my car and at night this can become a hazard. Is there a cable or a fuse somewhere that I can unplug? I don't want to go the route of tape, so skip that.

Any suggestions?

First I heard of this, and I've looked. Do you have a specific reference for this?

Only way I ever found was tape.

Only way I've heard of is by covering the sensor on the rear-view mirror.

I've got 35% and have been thinking the same thing as the OP. Would love to hear about the coding option.

The 1/2" square piece of electrical tape works great, but I'll be sure and ask my dealer about that next time I'm in.

Go to a mirror shop and have them custom cut you some mirrors and overlay them on your existing ones...voila...no more autodim.

You guys that say "coding", please identify someone who can actually do it. My BMW shop says no can do, and the dealers I've contacted all say no as well.

So, who did yours, eh?

The mirrors would just dim less with tint....

but if you want to disable them just put some black tape over the light sensor on the top center of the rearview mirror.

Not sure that would work as mine has homelink on it, not sure if the manual ones do...

And what about the compass? Just cut a window for it?

PLEASE, tell me who would do this. This sounds exactly like what I'm looking for.

Actually they don't dim any less (that I've noticed) as this was not a problem before my tint. And I have 35% all around.

Still need an answer to this, going in for service in the next week, if they can do it I'd like to know.

I HIGHLY doubt you'll be able to get them to do it! It can be done through coding or just placing something over the sensor in the rearview mirror.
