Guess I’m blessed my wife’s a car nut too. She drove my e85 more than I did the first day and is in the garage working on her wrangler when I’m working on whatever too. Granted I have times in the garage that there might as well be a do not disturb sign hanging. She gets it.

Seeing that she gets I go through blood sweat and tears and sees that the cars are labors of love she respects all our cars hers included.

She’s done auto crosses and been to open track days with me as well. She’s driven every car I’ve had except 3. My 1st car before we dated (‘90 cavalier) my second car (‘96 skylark) can’t blame her for not wanting to drive those, modes of transportation nothing more lol. And my first track beater 87 Supra, just wasn’t her thing. The e85/6 and e82 I think she looks damn sexy driving them all and handles them well.

If you love your car more than the wife you definitely picked the wrong girl.

As for the mechanic references I feel safer with my wife driving my cars. And I guarantee between the wife and mechanic you have a better chance winning an argument with the mechanic.

And remember when your beloved bmw is down and out for any given time, unless you have a back up car you are at HER mercy to get you from point a to b.

To use another point of judgment. All guys aren’t Grill Masters. My brother and oldest brother in law hell yeah anything they fire up you know is going to be damn good. My younger brother in law if he offers you something from the grill you might want to come down with a cold real quick. Good driving and good cooking both shouldn’t be based on gender.

I let my wife drive, because we only have one car, however i feel confidant since she knows how to drive and the car is full of safety technologies to help her

Wife can't drive stick. I've tried to teach her dozens of times and it usually ends with her near tears out of frustration or me pissed because she keeps stalling my car. Who knows, maybe I'll try again this year to teach her. Never works out though. That doesn't end with cars though either, tried teaching her skiing, golfing, etc etc. I have accepted that I can not teach that woman or she refuses to learn from me. Can't quite peg it haha.

My wife can drive my FBO 335i and can handle the power. My wife "Lets me" modify the car. I think part of that is so she can drive it from time to time...

She drove it on her commute a couple of months ago.

At the end of the day she said, "Your car is fun. It keeps flashing the flashers on the dash when I pass people, why does it do that?"

I said, "Yes that is when the JB4 indicates that you are at the redline and need to shift..."

I trust certain family members with my cars because I know enough about them, including my wife. Although, I tell them to drive my G16 but they generally resist because they're not comfortable driving it. Guessing it's because they see how meticulous I am with it 😂.

My wife has a brand new Escalade and drives a couple hours in traffic most days. Her truck is immaculate. Potholes are probably the only thing I would be concerned about because she doesn't need to worry about it with her truck, and it's an instant put off for her when I tell her she has to think about it 😁

If i ever got a proper nice car i'd be nervous. The mrs has binned it 5 times in 10 years so there's history there.

We traditionally trade our cars back and forth.

But my bride started, almost exclusively, driving our little BMW 228 GC after I lost interest in it. Unfortunately, she's now popped three run-flat tires. The last one was "in the middle of nowhere" and stranded her overnight (Roadside assistance failed to find a wrecker). She then walked & used Uber for the next three days because the dealer couldn't locate a replacement tire. Now she's afraid to drive it any distance or at night.

So, that 228 is on the way out - she needs something more rugged.

I only let my throng of adoring naked super models drive my M8.
Hence it's low mileage

I usually put an absorbent pad on the seat first...and sell it later.

IMHO, the only thing wrong with this video is the placement of the front license plate.
