Best Coilover Options for Street and Track
I know the options for coilovers on the F30 are still quite limited, particularly for those interested in solid street and track performance. Like many of you, I am holding out for more options. However, which coilovers should we be waiting for anyway? Is there one already available? To this end, I thought it might be useful and interesting for people to give their opinions on the best dual purpose coilover options for street and track based.
From everything I've read, and to extent what I've experienced, the following is list of possible contenders for between roughly $2,000 and $3,000 (in alphabetical order): AST 4100 or 4150 Bilstein PSS9 / PSS 10 CKS Ground Control H&R JRZ Koni KW Variant KW Clubsport MCS Ohlins TC Kline SA or DA From the list above, Bilstein, H&R, KW Variant and CKS are currently available for the F30. A couple of others are reportedly close. To jump start the discussion, here is a an excellent (and lengthy) post on coilover comparisons which has been active for over five years: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...light=coilover Okay - let's hear your thoughts...

The Ohlins is the best road and track coilover I have ever seen. It's not a hardcore track setup but it works out of the box. They are dummy proof and they ride like stock. Bad part is they don't make them for the f30 yet.

I spoke to Ohlins USA last week. The earliest they would have anything is this winter; that is if they start right now--which they haven't.

Just got off the phone with TC of TC Kline. He expects to have double adjustable koni based coilovers and his own designed camber plates out sometime in July. Interestingly, his design for both the front and rears allows double adjustablement without having to remove the shocks. (I believe with most, including the KWs, you have to remove the rear shock to adjust rebound.) With TC Klines, you simply need to jack up the rear a bit to reach your hand in to adjust rear rebound. I believe compression is adjusted toward the bottom of the shock. Thus, the TC Kline double adjustable coilovers for the F30 sound very promising.
