Below is the BMW part UK version which I used.
Hopefully your local dealership can provide you with the equivalent US part number.

I purchased this from a UK dealer I use all the while on eBay. Cotswold BMW.

Very easy hook up.
Install the cable with the 2 x crocodile clips onto the positive terminal and negative stud under the bonnet / hood. The other end of this lead has a connector block.
The main charging unit then has a male / female connector to connect to the crocodile clip lead connector block.
Switch on unit and set to Lith-ion.
That’s it.
