F80 Seibon carbon hood and trunk

Hi, I came across Seibon's offering for CF hood and trunk for the F80 M3:
https://seiboncarbon.com/products.ht...-f80-m3-316939

This is an old and reputable manufacturer for CF parts, so I assume fitment should be spot on as well as the quality.

I'm looking to get these parts for weight savings and will keep them unpainted, and the OEM CS hood is crazy expensive at $5k + paint job does not seem reasonable.

I've sent an email to Seibon and they replied with the following:
Carbon hood for the F80 is 25lbs and the trunk is around 15lbs.

Does anyone know the exact weight of the stock aluminum trunk and hood for the F80?

You’re not saving any if much weight for the money. It will be just for looks and hope there isn’t too much gaps.

I've had the Seibon CSL style shaved CF trunk (recently sold for a really good price). Didn't get a chance to weigh both stock and CF units, but the CF trunk was at least 5 lbs lighter, and easily more.

From what I found in other threads, the OEM alu hood is 34 lbs (can someone confirm?) and the M4 trunk (which is CF composite) is 18 lbs. No info on the M3 trunk weight, but I assume it’s heavier than M4’s. Seibon CF parts are not that expensive, and the fitment/gaps are said to be very good.

34 lbs for the stock hood is what I remember. No info on M3 trunk.

I am 160 lbs so diet won’t help lol.
So it’s about -10 lbs for the hood and should be another 8-10 lbs savings with the trunk? I already shaded off 50-60 lbs with lightweight exhaust and wheels. My goal is to make the car 100 lbs lighter without stripping the interior.

just only fill up your gas tank with maximum 9 gallons of gas and you're at your 100lbs goal when combined with your wheels and such

Stock aluminium hood is 20 pounds and the genuine CS/GTS carbon hood is 33% lighter at 13 pounds.
