Chrome window trim wrapping?
Just fitted darklines and had my E91 SE detailed and pretty happy with the look. Thing is the chrome window trims have gone a bit milky and my detailer guy reckons there is not much out there to save them. It's just about the only thing now that belies the age of the car. Replacing them is cost prohibitive for OEM parts so was thinking about getting them wrapped but wasn't sure about getting a good match to the original - don't want a bling effect, just want them looking like they used to. Anyone any experiences of doing this - good or bad?
Some may say go black, and I must say the shadow line effect looks great, but this is an 330i SE and I don't really want it looking like either a basic 318d (no offence to anyone with one!) nor a wannabe Sport. Thoughts? |

Personally I think that looks great as is with the chrome. Surely a decent wrapping place will have something appropriate of yours can't be saved?

I know everyone on this forum bums the life out of black window trims but personally i like the chrome!
I also like all chrome front grilles, shows you have a 6 cylinder and the window trims on an SE adds a touch of class imo, better than the plaggy look |

IMO:
Matt black - boggo spec Gloss black - looks good Personally it's going to be pretty hard to get vinyl to look like the original chrome trim without it looking cheap and tacky |

Wouldnt have the chrome grille on it so would be obvious it wasn't a 6cyl
Agreed the gloss black looks nice But the standard black is boggo basic and if i had a choice of plaggy black or chrome id go chrome. My bro has a 325d in sapphire black with the full 6cyl chrome grille and chrome window surrounds and it looks perfect with the black. The issue on this forum is everyone wants to be a sheep, you aren't in if you don't have a 335i or msport or black trims. Chrome is no good, SE spec is uncool and a 4 cylinder is a laughing stock. I may buy some chrome window trims to tick all 3 boxes and have the undopest e90 on the forum. Hella yeah mo de fo! |

Thanks for the responses, pretty 50:50 on sticking with chrome vs black.
Think I'm going to stick with the chrome (SE and proud!), can anyone suggest anyone to speak to regarding wrapping options in the London / SE ? |
