I think the F31 looks the best
This is a great point. In my opinion, the enthusiasts that love wagons tend to prefer higher horsepower and RWD. I've been excited about the F31 for a really long time, but after driving both the 328 and 335, I'm now only considering the 335.

One could probably earn a PhD working to explain Americas sedan vs. wagon/hatchback mindset. I'm afraid its a terminal, cultural thing.
"It's ugly" is all it boils down to. Everyone here feels this way until they own one, so usually forever. I never considered one until I found myself in a pinch for a DD (new sports car, winter approaching.) After living with a wagon for a short while, it was like I snapped out of some sort of brainwash trance. Now the thought of buying a sedan (or God forbid, an SUV) makes me grimace long and hard. Now that I drive a 'sedan', I wish I did not. It's too big for me especially when shoe horning it into my spot in the vile work car park. I should have held my horses and got another hatchback like a Mk7 Golf GTI or Mk7 Golf R. I got the BMW because I always wanted a BMW and thought, 'What the hell, I'll get one'. In fact, I got two and they are exactly the same. How mad is that? Eh?
Now, whilst writing this little piece, I've changed my mind again. I want a Porsche Cayman R as I don't need the space or want to carry my family around on their endless quests. Right, that's my next car. When? Soon I think. Decision made.

Your numbers will be skewed since a lot of wagon enthusiasts have lost interest in these forums since the F31 won't come to the US with a manual transmission. I'm trying to decide between an E91 manual or an A4 avant manual. I just never really liked the 'small' six 328 touring, I'd frankly rather have the N20.
I'm surprised there's any 'wagon stigma' left. Shouldn't everyone be shunning godawful SUVs that scream "kid hauler"? Wagons are barely a memory for most car shoppers in their 20s and 30s. |

It looks great, but as an American, I think station wagon. It doesn't matter how good it looks, or how practical it is- I think of Chevy Chase in the movie National Lampoon's Vacation... Having said that, keep in mind the US has such diverse geography, that you will see significant differences by region. Here in Florida, I hardly ever see all wheel drive or wagons, but when I go to Colorado I see many more of these vehicle types (usually with ski racks on top)...
