Struggling with Accelerator Peddle!

Do you get used to it?? my leg is killing me after my first long drive last night. I found it really uncomfortable, anyone else find this coming from a different manufacturer? Mines an 318d auto.

I tried the cruise control but I really don't like using it, never have done.

Also, getting slight rattle when accelerating, noticed it as soon as took car off the drive way. It's very slight and only audible with the radio off, seems to be coming from the dash/speedo area, although I could be wrong. Anyone else have this?? Nothing major but never had it on any other car

I did when I first got my E91 which I think is because it pivots from the bottom. I think the answer is to sit further away so that the angel of your foot isn't as acute.

I had exactly the same situation/solution in my e91. Tilting the seat base backwards helped a lot.

Thanks, don't think I have this adjustment on a SE standard seats.

I'v come from a Vauxhall Insignia SRi which had a fantastic orthopedist designed seat and had no problems with driving position or pedal...I'm surprised I'm saying it but I'm starting to miss that car!

Its just a matter of getting your driving position right. Once you do you'll be like OMG! The longer I drove mine the more comfortable I get, after an hour or 2 I don't want to get out!

I have a couple of rattles on mine but there not that major and I'll get em sorted when I'm next at the dealer.

Yes - understand completely.

One of the reasons I choose the sports seats on my E90 320D ED as they allow the angle of the seat base to be adjusted. They make a big difference and I wonder if they could be retro fitted.

I also never use cruise control - reason being is that there is nowhere to rest my right foot apart from on the throttle pedal and as it is so light in action, I find myself pressing it with resultant increase in speed.

I swing both of my legs out of the footwell and rest them over the centre console. Love cruise control. Wish I had the adaptive though. Stop/start traffic can be a bit hairy.

Do you use the pedal with your heel at the throttle base?

I know if you try and use it as a typical throttle pedal, with your heel away from the hinge point, you may find it feels wrong and is tiring.

I'm a long term BMW driver and used to the pedal, so no issues with foot placement. I'm sure other drivers will pass comment on how they use the heel position.
