Are Preventative Maintenance Covered by Warranty
New owner here, several months ago I purchased my first 2013 bmw 328iX, after some research, I happen to know that BMW offers an extended warranty for timing chain 7 year/70k miles, my car is well 7 years old and 63k miles. Currently, there is nothing wrong with the car but I'm worried that one day the timing chain might break, so before that happens:
1. Is replacing the timing chain even though nothing is wrong with it (yet) covered by extended warranty? If so, do I still need to pay for anything (labor, etc)? 2. When I entered my VIN on BMW's http://www.bmw-rp.com/ website, I get 4 choices View post on imgur.com so does that mean BMW offers extended warranty on all 4 choices?3. If I'm eliglible, what should I do and what is the process for me to get the warranty? When I click the BMW N20 AND N26 Engine Timing Chain and Oil Pump Drive choice, I just get a form View post on imgur.com Thanks guys! |

No
They will only replace stuff that is in need of being replaced due to issues. And not everything is covered under extended. You already hit the 7 year so you are no longer covered. Goes off of either or. |
