Hey everyone first post! I need help deciding on whether or not I should get new wheels and tires first or refresh suspension. My rear tires are especially getting to bald point so I am planning on going with apex arc 8 17x9 et30 and michelin pilot sport all season 4s. At the same time my front control arms and tie rods are pretty shot so i was going to get new b8's with h&R springs and the front m3 control arm conversion kit which would add up to a couple $$ cheaper. I am hesitant to get new tires because without new suspension + alignment there will be uneven wear so idk what are your opinions.

Well, you don't have to replace your wheels when you replace your tires.

I recently replaced my PSAS4's with some Falken FK460 to save a couple hundred bucks, and I'm happy with them (90%+ of the performance, I'd say, though I haven't pushed them too hard). Can't go wrong with the Michelins, but if the budget is tight, I'd consider them.

Will definitely check them out. I know I dont need to replace wheels but they are curbed horribly from previous owner + we finally onto tuning so need the upgrade from 225 to 255's

I agree with your assessment and do suspendoes first before tires UNLESS the tires are dangerously worn.

Contis Extreme Contacts are a good all-season tire as well. I only notice the difference in road-noise... those Michelins are soooo quiet.

Suspension first if you can't afford it all at once. Get some cheap used tires if the rears are totally shot/unsafe. I used to do this in highschool/college all the time. I could get a nice set of half used ones in the right size for like $60 mounted and balanced and they'd last me a year or two

Suspension first no reason to subject your new tires to premature wear due to poor alignment and contact with road.

Heck we are coming up on the summer. Old tires are suddenly "Summer Slicks" lol

Suspension, let settle, get under it and measure how much room you have to work with and account for suspension travel. Then decide what size wheel and tires you can fit and account for the quality of roads you have in your area. I would have ordered 19” wheels for my E92 but the roads in Nashville are terrible, I would likely bend wheels after hitting the potholes nearby.
