Bluetooth: loading contacts from Samsung Note3?

I have successfully paired my Samsung Verizon Note3 to my 2011 335is with I-Drive. I can see all my contacts when I search the phone book, but if I turn off bluetooth on the phone, or remove it from the car, all the info that was paired disappears, leaving my phone book empty. Isn't it supposed to load and STAY in the vehicle even without the phone? Can anyone please help?

I dont think your contacts are supposed to stay in your car, mine dont.
