Another piece of Carbon Fiber you should buy immediately

I don't know how many of you have actually bought this piece, or even know anything about it. But I've been on the hunt for this item for a few months, when I stumbled across it by accident. So, I purchased one for my F85 X5M and my F80 M3, and it made a world of difference for my interior. What is it you ask.

Wait for it, it is a Carbon Fiber CD AC Console Control Panel Trim Cover. It's a really thin layer molded to the curvatures of the panel. And now that I have it, I've found it on various other websites, since I know what to look for. This trim panel is made from true dry carbon fiber with a high glossy clear coat. And not some cheap rubber or ABS plastic with a carbon fiber print on it. I've seen it offered as high as $145 on other websites, but I would definitely recommend good ole eBay for around $55

I have a good eye for spotting genuine carbon fiber in person. But to be absolutely sure, I reached out to the seller to verify, and he confirmed that it was true carbon fiber. Their are many parts coming out of China that look genuine but aren't. And anyone can doctor a photo to make it look realistic.

The trim panel comes with real thin adhesive tape that is already applied to the back of the panel, just peel and stick. But first make sure that you clean the original CD AC panel with isopropyl alcohol, to ensure that it sticks properly.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/192309696287

I even searched for this part as well, I think they called it a Carbon Fiber Gear Shift Panel L Shape Cover.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/28369307335...Bk9SR9Dy3bnaYw

I just thought that these two pieces would extenuate my cars already beautiful interior.

And one of the best parts, is that the carbon weave flows in the same direction as the OE carbon dash, center console, etc.

These are items I will not immediately, or anytime in the future, be buying. It’s possible to add too much CF. This is my subjective opinion so I’m glad you like it.

I agree with your statement, that it's possible to add too much carbon. I just like small touches of carbon fiber to extenuate the car's interior. And I thought that these pieces were a nice touch, to enhance and already nice interior.

Weave looks a bit like hydro-dip and lacks depth of the oem part.
I have the dinnman version, it looks pretty good.
Agree on the M badge though, not feeling that.

I can assure you that this is not a hydro-dipped part. I really should have taken the photo out in the sun, and not in the garage. As this part does have depth. Some may like it and other may not. But thank you for your opinion.

Thanks for sharing this and personally think it’s a bit overkill on the AC controls but it’s personal taste and if it puts a smile on your face then its great.

M logo would remove as that’s 1990 Max Power stuff.

There are no carbon fiber pieces you should buy immediately.

I should have given this more thought. My eagerness to post it, got the better of me.

This is not a negative attack on any one individual, just an observation.
All I was attempting to do, is share this with other like minded individuals, that may wish to buy it.
But only received negative feedback.

I actually like the two pieces of carbon fiber, and I think that they integrate seamlessly.
But at the end of the day, the only person it matters to is me.
And in all honesty, I don't think that adding two pieces of carbon fiber constitutes carbon overload.
Is there such a thing as carbon overload, Yes!!
But this isn't it.

Yeah forums can be that way but good on you for taking it in stride. Don’t let that dissuade you from sharing though—opinions are just that.

Re the CF part; This is definitely not the worse post I’ve seen mofos add to our cars so I don’t think it looks omg bad. I don’t have it, but I don’t hate it.

But like you said, as long as you’re happy then it’s all good.

ra2289,

Finally someone with positive words, and a good comment instead of negativity. Much appreciated.

I think you just went a little too hard in your topic description.
