changing TPMS from VDO to Huf

I have a 2019 340 and purchased a 2nd set of wheels and would like to get my TPMS sorted so there are no issues.

My OEM wheels have VDO brand TMPS, according to visual inspection and comparison with the chart from Apex.

I would like to do whatever is easiest for the new set of wheels - after a lot of researching, I believe as long as I get all 4 new TMPS sensors from the same brand I will fine.
Is this correct?

If so, it seems the Huf part #RDE-027 will work, as long as I get a set of 4.

3-Series
Generation Year TPMS OEM Part # Huf Part # Notes
F3X 2014 - 2019 36-10-6-881-890 RDE-027 Production date after 2/28/2014

Does anyone have current info on the best place to buy from?
Tire Rack .com
TPMS .com
TPMSdirect .com
Apexwheels .com

They all carry the HUF part #RDE-027.

Ordered my RDE-027 from AutoHausAZ. Was the cheapest place I could find them considering shipping cost. Even cheaper than RockAuto which is surprising.

Thanks for the info.
Did you have any issues at all with the car recognizing the Huf sensors?

Does anyone else have comments on the RDE-027?
Has anyone purchased the valve stems in the optional colors (black, anthracite) instead of the OEM silver?

Link for AutoHauz AZ (no option for valve stem color)
https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/HU-36106881890

I have to say I am a little disappointed that the OEM valve stems are a bit corroded and grungy looking after 5 years and 45,000 miles on my original wheels. I would have thought the metal used on the stems would have held up better to brake dust, wheel cleaners, salt, etc.

I'm thinking the black or anthracite/gun metal finish may look nicer, but if it's painted on, surely will wear faster and look worse in than silver (standard finish) in a few years.

Any other comments from those that have purchased TPMS recently?

Perhaps I am overthinking this (just purchase the RDE-027s) but just trying to get it right the first time!!

I run the silver VDOs on my silver summer wheels and black Hufs on my black winter wheels. Both work…

You can get them new when you buy the sensors in black, gunmetal and silver. (check Apex).

Or you can mod your existing Huf TPMS with a hardware service kit (per valve stem).
