Remove "WARNING" Sticker from Visors
I know someone else made a similar article once, but my method adds a few details. I don't think pictures will be needed for this DIY, being it's fairly straightforward. Those ugly "WARNING - MAY CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY" stickers are heavily glued down to the visors so people can't remove them easily.
1. Buy this: http://www.detailersdomain.com/3m-ge...ner-08984.aspx 2. Pour a little of the adhesive cleaner on a microfiber towel (don't use paper towels unless you want to clean up a mess of shredded towels). 3. Soak the entire label with the adhesive cleaner and let sit for several seconds. 4. Start on the top right corner (which in my experience is the easiest to get leverage on without cramping your finger) by picking away at the sticker with your finger nail. Unless you have razor sharp claws, you won't damage the visor. 5. Pull up as much of the sticker in one piece as possible so you're not constantly picking at the sticker. 6. Continually soak the sticker with adhesive remover so more of the label comes up in one piece. 7. Once the sticker is off, open your windows to air out the solvent smell. 8. Spray some of this on a microfiber towel and agitate the visor: http://www.chemicalguys.com/Carpet_a...spi_191_16.htm 9. Pour water on a microfiber towel and agitate the visor to remove remnants of the Lightning Fast. 10. Dry with clean microfiber towel. 11. Enjoy! |

I didn't want to use any chemicals that might stain the visor(goof off, etc.), so I tried using HOT water/damn micro fibre cloth. You just have to take your time and be careful not to stretch or mess up the texture of the visor. For me, it worked like a charm! You can't even tell the stickers were even there.

I just want to add a step 0: REMOVE THE FREAKING VISOR FIRST .
By the way, I used Goof Off and no damage at all. It's like it was never there, but you really have to work hard to remove the 'shadow' left by the adhesive. And I would have never used Goof Off without the visor removed; it stinks like crazy. Had to clean visor, let it air for a day, then doze it with Fabreze. Once it was smelling nice and rosy, I reinstalled the visors. |

Unfortunately all of those stickers are leaving an imprint on the visors.
Whether you use chemicals or hot water, you can still see the outline after the sticker is removed. |

Not if you work on it enough. Mine look like stickers were never there, but took a lot of work. You have to use a microfiber towel, rub it in the direction of the threads (and opposite to it every once in a while), and rub with a new area of the towel every time. Only microfiber works since it has the 'grabbing' ability other rags lack. You also have to rub mildly enough not to damage the cloth. I honestly regretted doing it, but couldn't stop since one area was perfect and the remaining 'shadow' looked like crap, so had to finish the job. Next time will leave the 'shadow' alone, as it's hardly noticeable. And yes, the 'shadow' will always look WAY better than the stupid stickers .

This should now be a relatively easy mod for 2011 cars as the visors are now cheap vinal type of a material. Anyone tried moving the warnings from a 2011 car?

I wasn't talking about kidney grills, but thanks for pointing that out.
So there's no benefit? That's what I thought. No benefit = waste of time. My personal preference is not to waste my time doing things that are pointless. Thanks for clarifying. |

I just haven't seen a good reason to remove them. And since I don't own an M3 yet I figure you M3 veterans know something I don't.
You're right, my sarcasm about improving performance was waaaaaay out of line, and for that I am sorry. |

I find the warning a distraction in my peripheral vision, and will remove mine shortly, as I did on my last car.
