i have the same problem, and this only happens on " D " mode try putting it on " DS " or " M1 " It does not do that, but i dont want to drive in DS or M1 all the time it waste gas way too much...I also asked the dealer abot this problem and they said it's Normal, but no freakin' way i find this shit Normal it aggrivates the shit out of me! A solution for this has to be found...When?Where?How? Have no idea.

Same problem here. Sometimes pulling into the garage gets a little tricky. Just incase, I placed a 2x4 on the floor to stop the car so I don't smash into a shelving unit.

It is absolutely an issue with the E92 335i AT. My FIRST car in Germany had this problem as does my replacement car. So add me to the list.
It's really frustrating because it can be a pretty severe jolt in the car if it does it bad. And it has nothing to do with how hard you drive the car (as one of the other posters said their dealership suggested). It can happen when it's cold...warm...hard driving...easy driving. The frustrating thing...of course...is it doesn't happen all the time so it's hard to show a tech what's wrong. But when it does happen it's like WTF? This is just not right. I'm at 11k now so I've put it on my "to do" list at my first service. I'm gonna try starting from M1 like someone else suggested. If that works it's just a temporary fix however (I almost always drive in D)

The symptom sounds exactly like a classic slow torque converter lockup issue. |

I was hoping there was a TSB for this but have never been able to find one. If you have a TSB or SIB for it I'm all ears. The dealer will not fix your car becuase there are no SIB's for this issue. I got lucky becuase my original issue was with my iPod and so they had to update my PROGMAN to ver. 27. It reduced the sticky brake issue but its still there.
There were no SIB's on this issue nor have I ever seen any. One weird thing is that there haven't been any new SIB's since PROGMAN ver. 27 It's almost like BMW is keeping these under the table so people in forums like this can't make up an issue to have their PROGMAN updated. |

On my 06 325 it was pain in the ass. On my 07 335 its still there, but they seem to have made it a bit better. Its not nearly as noticeable as it was before.

I hada Progman update done a few months ago to fix an Ipod 6FL issue, didn't seem to effect anything regarding this at all. I might be going in for Dinan this summer, and i want this problem fixed! |

its actually pretty dangerous.
When trying to parrellel park, it is almost garunteed you will hit the car in front or behind since the brake distance is unreliable due to the sticking issue. My SA said they couldnt replicate the problem, therefor had no solution |

i tried that tranny reset thing...i think its a myth because i don't hear anything happening during the "reset" period and i certainly don't feel it being any different...i still feel the jerk every now and then, but i find it happening only when i hit sudden brake to sudden gas. if i'm stopped at a light for a minute, it doesnt happen.

Ditto with pulling into the garage. That's the only time I have the problem, but still a daily event. PITA!
The only thing I've found is to pull into the garage and slowly creep up to my stopping point (I have a laser mounted on the garage door opener that puts a red dot on my dash when I'm far enough in) without coming to a complete stop. If I modulate the speed well enough w/o coming to a complete stop, no problem. Tricky, but i'm able to do it pretty regularly now. Yes, my garage floor is completely level, so if this is supposed to assist me on a hill (and I have step, btw), it's poor execution by BMW of what could be a cool feature for a manual trans.

Same problem with my 335i. Really takes the shine off a great car. It's impossible to come to a smooth stop....I'm embarrassed when I have passengers in the car.......

Well WTF !!??
Shouldn't BMW USA be responding to this problem ??? My 4 month old 335i does this as well...Usually first thing in the morning or after it has been sitting a long while, then it seems to disappear. VERY disconcerting.
