2005 x3 issues

Good day all. Hey, my 2005 x3 is experiencing some major issues:
When accelerating up a hill the car will lose acceleration completely and go into a mode where the rpm’s fluctuate up and down with no acceleration or occasionally it will lurch super bad. This is mitigated by turning the ignition all of the way off and restarting the car. BTW the car is a stick. Thanks l, CW

I had this issue with my N52 manual once, pedal would go completely dead at times too. It was a bad relay under the hood (in the relay/fuse box under the hood). The biggest relay there.

Hey thanks for the response. Was it the efi relay?
