BeePee you have both F80 plate and V-brace - how much harsher is the ride on bumpy roads? |

We have someone in comment 68 saying the F32 brace creates more harshness and someone in comment 90 saying less harshness.
Has anyone else installed the F32 brace in their F30 and would like to chime in on their experience? |

I have, and to be honest doesn't make a significant difference for me;
But my feedback is affected by two considerations: 1: i have the f80 plate on top of that, and i had the f80 plate only before that. 2: having stiffer anti roll bars installed, more subtle effects from braces are probably less noticeable. |

Anyone try one of these reinforcement plates on an F36 gran coupe with x-drive? Any noticeable difference?
Does this help at all with steering feel or moreso with body roll? |

No X-Drive here but I do have chassis reinforcements installed. The benefits are for the most part, neither of what you mention. The main benefit is stability during cornering. A great example would be a hitting bumps during sustained cornering. The stiffer chassis will enable the car to hold its line better in these situations.

I wouldn't even bother with the CPM plate as the OEM plate is $20 max (I paid $15 for mine) - OEM plate is more than adequate...

questions on rear brace for 2014 335Xi
I have a stock suspension 335Xi (with Dinan engine mods) and don't know if the rear stiffener would by itself substantially benefit my car. Does it require a new exhaust hanger? And what/where is the V brace? Is V brace stock on my car? Also, some of you have OEM part numbers. Does BMW sell this rear plate as an option? Some pictures for a 335 Xi might help me.
I plan at some point to buy Dinan shockware which modifies the OEM shock settings to stiffer in both comfort and sport modes. I might also get Dinan springs and bump stops. And the Run Flats will go away! But I only drive street. No racing. Thanks for thoughts. |

Old topic revival time! I am about a week or two out from DIYing this. Slight novice here, but I'm not stupid and this looks like a very easy install.
a) Can this be done on ramps? When the car is sitting on its wheels do the push rods (left / right) bare any weight? b) Anyone know the torque for the bolts that go through the push rod and the large bushing? Thanks! |

thanks for reaching out.
im talking about the v brace mainly. my 2012 prod 335 didnt come with the v brace in there at all. so i need to replace the two carriers that sit on top of the 2 front rear axel bushings as well. i figured the plate is an easy install on ramps, but i am talking about releasing the bushing bolts while the car is on its wheels. one at a time, but still... torque spec i found... bmw lists the bolt that goes through the rear axel bushings at 108 nm. at least for my vin. ps : by carrier i mean : https://static.schmiedmann.dk/Produc...367598_big.jpg Quote:

I'm running B8's with F80 Springs (MA/MR) H&R front sway bar and BMW 15mm rear. Adjustable end links and SPL bump steer/tie rod ends. One of the best decisions I made was to switch to a 245/40/18 set up |

For people who've done this, would you be kind enough to drop all of torque specs for this install on f30? I saw @[FaRKle!]'s specs, however I think they're still a few missing? Hard to keep track. Thanks!

cansomeone advise if a rear "strut bar" is useful and how difficult to install?
I know it isn't a strut in the rear ...the one I added in the front - a true strut bar-- helped somewhat. I would imagine a rear reinforcement bar would reduce understeer, if have any effect.
Thanks. Charlie |
