In Ontario, you really only have 3 choices without being sniffed out (2 portable, 1 hardwired)
1) Escort Redline (best range detector out there) 2) Bel Sti Magnum (successor to the Sti Driver; better ramp-up than the Redline but slightly less range) 3) Bel Sti-R hardwire (the upper echelon of RDs period) |

I had thought most use Lasers and not radars.
So my last 3 tickets in the past 2 years would still happen since it was laser or lidar. |

This car cost me some big speeding tickets so far, so it would probably save me alot of money in the long run

I should clarify - they do detect laser, however, by the time it warns you it is already too late. Unlike radars guns, lasers are used to measure the speed of a single car at a time. And laser works at the speed of light. So by the time a detector alerts you to a laser attack, you're toast! You'll also never encounter any false laser alerts. An easy way to tell if you're being shot at by laser is if the officer is holding the gun close to his face or on a tripod. They can only be used while stationary.
There is no passive way to beat laser. The only solution is to accompany your detector with a laser jammer for complete protection. They basically receive the laser signal being shot at your car, and return it at a shifted pulse rate giving no reading to their gun. The Laser Interceptor is the best jammer out there. Honorable mentions would go to the Anti-Laser G9 and the Blinder X-treme. |
