JB4 for 2011 335i with performance kit
All,
new to bimmer world. I just got my first bimmer 3 weeks ago. The toy comes with performance kit. My question is that is it worth to do JB4? |

The JB4 will ignore the PPK tuning when enabled. So tune away! The PPK only adds 10-15hp over stock. With the JB4 on there you'll be looking at an additional 30-40whp I imagine, much more at lower RPMs.

JB4 Stage 2 is the best bang for the buck, purchase the USB cable as well so you can get the firmware updates.
DP's (Downpipes) are easy to spot. There are numerous threads about the topic. General thought is "you pay to play", I'm an SA for BMW drive a modded 335 and just know that if something breaks i might be paying for it. You can however go in for general service with no issues, just turn the tune off when you do.

Op..I too have the performance package, and I've debated on whether getting a jb4 or procede..but for piece of mind and warranty i'll wait a while.. i will most likely end up waiting for the cobb so i dont have to remove the tune every time i go in for service. getting dps and a er charge pipe first, and if you still are in the need for speed, then both these bolt ons will only complement the jb4...either way goodluck to u..

Really considering this JB4 - stage 2. Unfortunately in Georgia, we have annual emissions testing to get license renewal. I dont have to do it for 2 more years, but then it would be an annual job, so a DP would be a PITA once testing is required.
Tune would be no problem. It appears a 30-40 hp increase is common...but even more low end torque? Would love the low end torque for everyday driving. Can you Meth/Tune and no DP? |
