Navigation Update on USB Not Recognized?
I apologize in advance if a solution has already been posted someplace on the forums. I searched and tried every possible solution.
I'm having the hardest time getting my 2012 BMW 328i to recognize the navigation update that I have on a brand new 32GB USB drive (formatted FAT32). I have the FSC code for my car, and I followed the instructions (place the config.nfm and pkgdb fines on the root of the drive, plug the drive into the USB port located in the center console, start navigation and follow the prompts), but for the life of me I cannot get my car to recognize the update. Is there a way to force the update? Is there a particular type of USB drive that I should be using (currently have an EMTEC 32GB USB 2.0 drive)? My car has the premium 2012 map that I'm assuming is the original map and has never been updated before. Am I overlooking something? Thanks in advance! |

I figured it out! I completely forgot about the fact that most USB drives come with a small partition containing bloatware. I used an app to wipe the drive and reformat it. Then I threw the files on it again and it finally detected the update. I was using both a Mac and a PC.
