I'm not here to compare drop shipping and companies selling their own products. Sure, if you have a high probability that an item could get damaged in transit over seas, buy it from a local reseller for an increased cost. Makes total sense there. I'm talking about cheaper items especially the one this thread is about. Mine came in a well packaged box from Ali Express and like the other reviews said, everything was working. Can we agree that giving people the option to choose makes sense? Maybe someone would be willing to buy directly from Ali especially if they have the chance to save more than double what they would be paying. All about that risk to reward ratio

that's a perfectly reasonable take, I actually shared the aliexpress info about this specific item in another thread last month because I don't agree with the $250 pricing.

The Ali express one says 5-15w and also not for iPhone 12 and 13! Would it fit my 2019 440? Description says 2014-2018

Yes it will. Not sure why but many sites leave off 2019 and 2020 for the F32. Both years are standard LCI.

Ok thanks!!! Only other thing I see is this
“Not for iPhone XS max/12/12 pro/12 pro max/13/13 pro/13 pro max/14/14 pro/14 pro max/15/15 pro/15 pro max”

Not sure if it’s correct, outdated or whatever but would suck because I’ll be getting a new phone soon. Anyone have those phones and does it work? Thx!

Did you end up trying this? Says on the ali page to contact them before but for 70 bucks might try it

NxTH Hi, sorry for the tag, but I wanted to ask you if you tried this consoles from Ali and willing to share some experience. I was looking into them and they advertising them as 15W, though not so sure. How is the charging speed? Does the phone heats up rapidly on longer use and with CarPlay connected?

It will be much appreciated info, thanks.

I never bought it. I don't really understand it. If I need to charge the phone, I would lay it on top of this wireless charger, but due to its location, I can't see or use my phone while it's charging. I just have a 30 dollar magsafe on my vent. Can charge, use and see the phone at the same time.

I see. My idea is to leave it on the charger while using CarPlay. I am not using the phone anyway while driving and if I do it is in a traffic stop and just picking up the phone.

If the unit is the same as the one offered from US resellers it should have the same characteristics and issues if any.

Thanks.

my car: 2014 328xi estoril blue ext. black int.

In the box: Very well and safely packed. You do also get a T20 torx, pick tool set, plastic pry tool, sticker, and keychain. I already had all of these tools, but the install absolutely requires all of them, so a nice touch if you dont have them, and they're all pretty decent quality.

Fitment: amazing, fits and looks oem+ no problem

Charging: works flawlessly for android and iphone (tested on iphone 11 pro and samsung galaxy s8. I think it was fast charging, but apple removed the audio dings that tell you if it is, so not 100% there. It also works to charge my airpods, but you have to get them in the right spot.

Price: The price is steep, although it works and fits amazing I still think its a lot to ask $200. But again I was willing to shell that out for the oem look which this definitely fulfills.

Positives: oem look, good fitment, bigger drivers cupholder, easy install, good packaging + instructions

Negatives: Cost, lose a little bit of storage space (not really), silicon charging cover is a bit loose probably wont use it myself.

Overall worth it for me, but I wanted the oem look.

carplay and wireless charging is a bad idea, it creates too much heat and you're going to kill your battery. you'd be better off with a magsafe charger since apple manages heat better with its own connection, but a generic Qi charger that this is, is just gonna heat your phone up like crazy with carplay.

Thank you for the input. It is really helpful. I read a lot of issues with CarPlay and QI wireless charcher, even the OEM one on the newer G models. I will just leave it as it is. Good ol cable with fast charging adapter.
