DCT shift on startup
I know that you can adjust a few things on your key in the m mode screen. my question is, can you switch the speed of your shifts upon start up? the "2" setting is far too slow, makes car feel annoyingly sluggish.

I have the GTS tune (got it from ESS) and it remembers my settings from when I last turned the car off.

GTS/Dinan tune defaults to D2, but will remember your previous Sx setting.
Are you saying you want it to start in something like S5?

The short shifting of S2 is awful. The OEM software remembered both S and D preferences. I have the Dinan tune and it starts in D2 but remembers your S preference. As soon as I get in gear, I hit a paddle just to get in into S4 right away.

I'm sure it's much safer to start our car in D-2 when engine and DCT is cold !And personal I would not want anything else !
Think about our DCT and bearings man,it's no toy ,think that we have seen enough trouble on here, don't you think man ? Ones engine and DCT is warmed up throw it in S-6 if you want to and you would hurt nothing, but cold than it's time to think first ?!?! That's why the buttons and settings are there for to change them ones she's warmed up ! I realy don't get this way of thinking !

Tend to agree, in my view only good that it starts in D2 cause what I'd do during warm up any how. Then a simple tap to memorized S(4) mode. Even keep Power in normal till half warm where after consol or M buttom and off we go!

Plus seriously, it takes a split second to push the drivelogic button on the center console and move it to what you want manually. Last edited by M3-S65; 06-12-2014 at 09:04 PM.. |

Hmmm ... Mine is stock and it will remember D (up to D4) but only recalls S3 or lower. So if I'm in S4 when I power down, next start up will default to S3. If I am in S1, 2 or 3 it will recall those. I've been searching for a way to get it to at least remember S4, since that's what I use 95% of the time. Sounds like it's not possible without a tune then?

The DCT will remember your last Dx mode but will always default to S3 in S mode.
