I found an Evo ID5/6 HW 3.1 with a GPS connector and can't find any HW 4.1 with GPS connector in Australia at the moment. I really wanted a 4.1 with GPS connector but no luck without asking wreckers to remove them from cars to check multiple vehicles which I doubt they'd do.

Does anyone know the actual differences between NBT Evo ID5/6 HW 3.1 and 4.1?

I'm very fussy with CarPlay and/or Bluetooth connectivity glitches and I don't want to run into any HW 3.1 related glitches, even if minor.

Do they both take exactly the same BTLD and SWFL files or do they take different files for the different hardware versions?

PS: Don't say RAM. They are both ID5/6 units and both have 4GB RAM.

i believe 4.1 supports touch screen natively but 3.1 doesn't, but there is a workaround in coding for 3.1 so if you have apex2 touchscreen, you can use it with 3.1 HW

Also some 4.1 ID6 units dropped Most / HK amp support in g series and no doubt other models. But f3x f8x second hand units do have Most, HK and B&O amp support

All the BMW NBT-EVO 4.1 units designed for 2, 3 and 4 F series work fine with the most HK/AMPs.

The G series uses a totally different network which is why you cannot install a iDrive 7 / 8 or Live Cockpit in a F Series.
