Hey guys

Just started P90X on Monday

Started at 276 and I am now down to 271 after 5 days of workouts. Doing the standard P90X (No doubles or lean)

Hoping to get back down to 225lbs

Yoga is a killer.

I was forced to quit for a week due to an injury. I still am not able to fully do all the workouts because my back hurts so much. But I have been slowly getting back into. The surprising thing is, during that week I was still able to lose 5 pounds. My advice is to keep eating healthy and do any physical activity possible that wouldnt interfere with your surgery

If that guy with one leg can do the workouts, so can you! Which reminds me, I did round 1 with a broken toe; no wonder it hasn't healed yet

Jpurvis, keep up the good work my man!

Duk, I still wanna see your day 0 pics. Keep up the good work!

SCS, first of all I'd like to congratulate you!!

So it took you 5 months to accomplish this? Going by your 2010 dates. Now how about you take the wifey to get her nails done and you get waxed while you're there

thanks man, yeah i started the end of january of 2010 and completed the 90 day program. after the 90 days, i just ran a few times per week to maintain. the after pic was taken in june or early july. one thing i didn't do was follow the died plan. i did however watch my calories and protein intake. i think the key to the program is to give it all you've got. when i started i could only do a couple of pull ups and maybe ten push ups. i was also only able to make it about halfway through each workout for the first month or so.

i'll look into waxing...lol

Great thread. I did P90x in 2009 and lost 50lbs, went from 265 to 215. I got out of the habit and when winter rolled around I lost the willpower to keep working out so I gained back 25lbs of what I had lost. Now, I am doing my own workouts at home. I mostly do intense cardio on a treadmil or a recumbant bike and I also do some free weight lifting. So far I have lost 8lbs in 3 weeks.

P90x is a great program for teaching you how to eat and what exercizes work for you.

Keep up the hard work everyone!

Day 1 for me was yesterday....with an injured wrist at that...wish me luck!
BTW any ex-military in here? Chest and back workout reminded of P.T. in basic training....a lot of pull-ups and push-ups, stuff I did almost everyday when I was active duty....go figure I guess the Army was kinda right...LOL.

P90x played a large part in my transformation but ALOT of it is diet, without eating right theres no point in even doing the rest. Sorry the first pic is blurry.

But it will do amazing things for you. Staying in those lunges will absolutely jack your quads if you make the effort trying to get down to 90 degrees and do them right.

Yeah it is a pain with the injury and all....I have to modify which exercises I can do or just double up with sets on the Bands.

Does the Army still do this type of PT? I got out of active reserves back in '04 so I haven't done regular PT since then.....

Plyometrics(torn ACL about a year and 2 months ago) and Yoga are what are killing me

I was on my second week when I hurt myself. Started all over again.

Currently 155 pounds. I'll have to post pics tomorrow. I'm on Day 3.

Yoga is only hard for the first half an hour. KempoX is fun. I finished day 7.

Yoga will creep up on you if you dont quit, it's one of my favorite workouts now. Its great once you gain the ability to stretch at full capacity and build some muscle in your legs.

I can do most of the YogaX stuff...its just that a good portion uses the abs/core and a day after doing Ab RipperX it just aint fun at all!

I always give a mock frown and say "Shut it Tony and just get it over with!"

Just finished Day 9...I skipped Plyo today and went and played 1.5hrs of soccer...anyone think it is cheating or will effect my progress if I sometimes substitute ply for soccer, basketball(full-court) or a jog (1hr)? I just want to keep my running stamina for soccer up AND re-build leg strength after my ankle injury last fall...

"Plyometrics is jump training. If your doing it your gonna jump higher and run faster, and your heart will kick the panties off of anyone else's. Plyo is the mother of all X workouts." And if your missing that you are no doubt skipping a key part to the program. I normally do the workout and then go run or play ball for an hour on top of that. I prefer you dont substitute anything for this workout. Just my two cents...

Yeah the thing is there is a time limitation for me with working 12hour shifts...so I have limited time...it is either do Plyo on that day or get to play a bit of soccer (only happens once a week), so maybe I will do a bit of pre-game jump training and a bit of post game jump training...but I won't be able to do the entire workout AND get enough sleep...there just isn't the time....
