Finally considering a jump to an iphone.

I've coded up advance bluetooth but considering using the cradle for docking the phone and so I can use apps etc.

Has anyone come across a retrofit guide to get the cradle into the armrest.

Searching through the forum but cant find any useful guides/ part numbers.

Car is a 2014 F30 with Pro Nav and HK

The thing is worthless don't bother.

I just made a DIY guide on removing the cradle so that there is more space in the center console lol.

That was my thought originally as always had android. As I want the spotify integration to work, have to move to iphone. And it will be much easier to clip the phone then have it rattle around in the armrest. Otherwise would totally agree its waste of space.

However now moving to 6S and cradle is needed as only way to get spotify to work is to use USB lead or the cradle and the lead is annying

Follow on any ideas anyone as to since I Have coded advance bluetooth and can see the cradle option displayed on the screen in my NBT is it case of plug and play for the base plate or is there anything else needed. Have an option on a cheap base plate so might be a good plan

Well first things first, pull off your rear vent and see if you have 3 cables hanging out right there, if you don't, I would imagine this retrofit is going to kinda suck.

Got the telephone cradle and I've never used it mainly due to the rip off bit plastic to connect up your phone. I've got a iP6 and it just sits inside armrest (not in the cradle), no issues with rattles or movement. Personally I'd give it a miss.

to add the baseplate you need to add 4 cables to nbt 1 to the usb2 and 3 for video, under the armrest you need to change usb socket and add 3cables to aux that go to baseplate, a cable for the antenna, and then you need a positive and negative wire

I did the complete retrofit in my 328i from 2014 with nbt and it doesn't work. If i connect my phone to the snap-in it charges but doesn't connect to the idrive.

You're not gonna tell met that there is no one but me that has this problem and no one knows how to fix it!!!!!
