Still not working. You need to go to Control Panel => Edit Options => Messaging & Notification and Check these boxes:

Enable Private Messaging
Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages
Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up

Sorry, I still feel stupid because I don't find these boxes.

Maybe my account has to be upgraded to use the PM-system as it is still mentioned on top of the site.

It can take a few hours, but afterwards you'll see a change in your "settings"-menu. The option 'Private messages" will be added.

You can send PM, but not receive PM:
