Thanks Bro I’m really impressed with them so far look super bright even in the day light and start up animation is super fluid and looks really nice, been watching them for a while and was waiting for he price to drop. Grabbed them last week and arrived today. I put up a thread in the lighting section. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2034945 Will post up some night time shots later. I was seeing to many people with GTS lights so I wanted to switch it up a bit. As Ricky would say if your not first your last lol |

Needed new brakes and rotors all around at 65k. Decided to go aftermarket because I really hated all the rust and dust that the OEM rotors produced. Zimmerman rotors cross drilled on the front and back with ceramic pads from pagid or something from fcp euro. Parts+ Installation came to like 850-900. They look amazing and feel better than stock IMO. Up next I’m going to paint the stock rotors yellow or red. Haven’t decided. Also gotta clean these wheels. Plan on getting some new wheels and tires all around early next year. Still rocking 17s on my 320i xdrive but looking to go 18.

CEL came on right after replacing OFHG...Code P052B / 131501 was for a VANOS intake issue (not controllable). Just a terrible coincidence it turns out.
The VANOS solenoids are extraordinarily easily to replace on this vehicle- located right in front of the engine block only the air intake needs to be removed to gain access to them. As far as I know these were the original VANOS solenoids that lasted 110k miles so they were actually a bit overdue imo. |

Replaced the exhaust vanos actuator. Didn't get a CEL yet, but logs indicated that it was lagging the DME requests. Plus I was getting some low rpm hesitation. Getting to it at the back of the engine is a major PITA, there is about an inch between the actuator and the firewall. Installing is simply push in and twist, no screws. I'm at 42k miles.

Installed some door pull covers to freshen up the interior. For $50 (all 4 doors) I'm not mad at all.

Finally got around to upgrading FMIC and CP today. Went with the Wagner Evo 1 FMIC because I was highly paranoid about introducing turbo lag. I was apprehensive about the price but I was able to get a good deal on it- bimmerworld had a blemished unit for sale due to some of the fin tubes getting bent during shipping. Had no issues bending them back into position. I had a modest amount of store credit on that website to boot so I took it as a sign that I should buy it.
The FMIC absolutely sucked to install without removing the bumper. Charge pipe was a piece of cake. Planning to drive it around for the next couple weeks as-is to ensure no boost leaks were introduced and finally will be ready for some tuning soon. |

Took her to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix to hang out with the Allegheny Chapter of the BMWCCA. Great hosts, and a touring themed car corral. I've never seen this many cars in one place, let's l literally thousands. Took a hot lap with Mike Renner from the BMW Performance Center (if you haven't done this, do).
At a bit of a loss for words, actually.

Installed F8X front rotors and Akebono pads - used 370mm -> 380mm adaptor kit. Esthetically very pleasing vs. stock but initial bite of the ceramic pads are definitely less aggressive than the stock M sport pads.
Much simpler than I originally thought, hope to do rears soon along with a brake fluid flush.

Hate those analogue, amber BMW clusters. Although they prove travel in time is possible - they come straight from the 80s.

i think you inspired me to pick some up, with summer heat and feeling the pulls get sticky, i think i should probably be proactive about protecting them with some covers.

They sell full back side replacements for the door handles as well. Kies and Amazon have them available. You'll have to remove the door cards to install them though.

I think it’s a good idea, eventually the OEM pulls will feel gross and look ugly. Mine weren’t too bad compared to some of the ones I’ve seen out there; like you, I got the covers as more of a preventative measure. They have them in carbon as well, I feel like you might want to try those with your fancy interior. Can always return if they look cheap/don’t match your other trim.

While I normally appreciate proper replacment parts over bandaids, replacing all 4 of the door pulls will be way more time consuming and expensive vs going the cover route, plus they’ll eventually wear out again anyway. Yes, the covers are cheap, but the quality is surprisingly good and they look and feel the part. Might as well try them before deciding if you wanna go the more expensive route.
