OT: A4 Avant TFSI ...Worth it?
As there are not actually that many fast petrol Estates / Tourers, I tend to check out other makes.
Yes I know it's a bit bland, however decent power for a 2.0 petrol. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/audi/a4...-s-line-review Okay, so it's an Audi but it's not a diesel. What's the consensus on the A4 Avant S Line? |

I agree I think it does look a bit bland in the pictures but probably looks better in the flesh. The interior though looks really good and I suspect would feel more special. Id be interested to see how it drives in comparison to a 328 but it's not exactly jumping out the page at me. I'm biased obviously but I still prefer the look of the 3 series. Nick's view will doubtlessly be interesting I wonder if his censorship extends to commentary related to Audi? |

probably, infact no, most definitely the most comfortable estate car to be in on the market and has been for a while. though bland on the exterior it is still v nice to look at. and although dated on the interior, what contender car isn't?
a great buy but don't expect too much from that engine |

I have just rejected/returned a faulty brand new TT.
Took 2 months and still bitter and sore about the whole experience, very poor customer service when things go wrong, hence my decision to go to the small claims court to try and recover some of the money I lost, that should be a nice surprise for them when they find out, lol. Think twice before heading down the Audi route, and I had to deal with the dealer, Audi finance and Audi UK, and all were as bad as each other. Still, on the bright side, it put me into the F36, well it will have in a few months anyway, lol. |

Had an a4 avant Quattro black edition, absolute delight of a car. If this feels right, go for it. They're well made & for a daily drive to 8/10ths, fairly faultless.

S4 possibly but that 2.0 just wouldn't feel special, VAG cars are all parts bin specials, you'll see the same bits when you get in Skodas, seats, VWs etc
A 340i would be a far better prospect and the engine isn't too far forward as it would be in that Aldi. |

Have had one Audi myself, and the Mrs is on her second. Build quality & reliability has not been outstanding, but then my 328i was worse than all of them

Ha, almost a mirror image of my A4 Avant Black Edition, they royally buggered up the spec. So I rejected and had a full refund, purely down to a crap dealer, Audi UK were great. That resulted in a mini panic call to sort a 320d tourer out lol. |

The earlier TSFI had problems with oil consumption. Its a known problem which Audi note they have addressed. A colleague was using a litre of oil with a tank of fuel at around 50,000 miles - and the car was outside of warranty.

I quite like the idea of it. Petrol and 4 wheel drive. And probably fast enough in the real world when you have wife and 2 kids in it.
Shame BMW don't make an equivalent. |

The 2.0TFSI is a peach of an engine too, better than anything up to a 35i/35d I would say so unless you would go top end BMW that Audi isn't a bad buy at all.

I have an A6 - have to say that the build quality and interior is better than any BMW I have had recently. Not the last word in driving finesse - but its big, diesel and quattro so wouldnt expect it to be, it feels sure and safe which ios probably ideal for me.
I had a Golf GTi with that engine - loved it. When I dont do the miles and dont need the space I will be after an S3 or S4. |
