Detailer's Domain: Porsche 911 CS - Paint Restore
New Porsche 911 CS Correction.
I got a call from my customer telling me he just got a new 911 CS and asked me to take a look at it, I guess to my surprise I got a pretty swirled/hologram imperfect new 911! It always surprises me that dealers selling cars can do this, I feel its the dealers' job to present a perfectly prepped new car to a customer in fact they should do this for pre-owned cars as well. Enough ranting, here is the write up. What was done - Exterior - Wheels were prepped with Sonax Wheel Cleaner and cleaned up with various brushes - Tires were spritzed down with P21S Total Autowash and washed down - Wheel wells were spritzed down with P21S Total Autowash - Wash down and rinsed - Door jambs were cleaned up - Clayed - Dried - Paint inspected and measured - Wheel Wells were cleaned and dressed - Tires dressed - Masking - 3 Step Paint correction (Meguiars M105 with an Uber Yellow, Menzerna Super Intensive Polish with an Uber Green and Menzerna PO85RD with an Uber Blue) - Inspection with Fenix, 3m Sun Gun, Infratech, and natural sunlight - Last Step - Menzerna Power Lock - Rubber and Plastics Treated - Exterior windows and mirrors cleaned and sealed - Exhaust tips cleaned - Engine Cleaned up and dressed Products used: (feel free to click the link below for more info) Exterior: Lusso Auto Bathe P21S Total Auto Wash Uber Yellow Wash Sponge Uber Clay Bar kit with Optimum No Rinse Einszett Spray Wax Meguiars M105 Menzerna Super Intensive Polish Menzerna PO85RD Menzerna Power Lock Wheels/Tires Sonax Wheel Cleaner Swissvax Pneu Glass Adam's Glass Cleaner Adam's Glass Sealant Tools: Infratech 5300 Fenix TK11 Brinkmann Fenix TK40 Flex 3403 Makita Metabo The Uber Foam Pads (5.5inch) Tons of "Uber" Microfiber Towels Uber Drying Towels Brushes Cam Spray Pressure Wash and Foam Canon Attachment Before The paint imperfections! Phil, Will you do my car... I live in Scranton PA, and I wouldn't mind driving down for the day & getting a nice detail from you guys in the future!
That Porsche looks awesome! Perfect. I'm entering my 2011 E88 128i in a BMW CCA concours car show on Saturday. I prepped my car and probably made a few mistakes because I'm not on the same level as a Professional obviously. I'll be sure to post some photos of my work. I used zymol's Vintage wax (applied by hand).

That's fine with me. I'll keep in touch with you. I'm thinking fall (October) for a full-out paint correction, detail/wax. I've only had the car for 2 months..I'll wait.
I'm not careless to the point to slack off on my detailing routines. I am going to make minor mistakes and such though. I'm eager to learn new things to be an even better detailer. This forum will help me get there!

I'm really considering picking up a 996tt instead of the 1m coupe...this did NOT help my decision. Excellent work as always! Your threads are an assett to the community and an inspiration for me to actually do a little detailing.

Nice work. Just placed an order for some of these products. Really like the look of the Swissvax tire dressing. Hate an over-glossy tire, those look perfect.

I've only just read that it was new. That is absolutely horrendous. I really do hope the dealer gets an earful (and hopefully an invoice) for that. @Dackel - thanks so much; as always your posts are spot on. Going to order some this morning - my tips are in terrible shape. |

yup pretty bad.
I believe after all the glaze came off after the first wash this is what was left, still can't figure out why the engine bay was that bad. |
