I have the 370/345 Zimmerman slotted/dimpled rotors with the Zimmerman Pads. After few hard braking it start fading out (the brake pedal is still stiff -fluid Castrol 650).
What are the recommended option of the pads to suit both - DD and spirited driving ?

I like the Akenbono ceramics I put on mine- I’ve ran them on many cars for many years and liked them. Not everyone does as there is less of the sudden bite when first tapping them, but I find them very linear in braking power- especially at tip in vs the jerky OEM pads, much easier to get a smooth stop or a smooth slow down IMO, I’ve never tracked them but drive spiritedly and haven’t noticed much brake fade, they also keep wheels a lot cleaner in my experience too. They’re not for everyone, but I value the linear braking characteristics and smooth tip in and release these give, also a good price too

Is your car equipped with M Sport or M Performance brakes, from the factory or added later with proper coding?

You will not be disappointed in OEM M Sport brake pads (other than dust).

ATE Ceramic pads via Autodoc; Ferodo DS2500s (can be quite dusty though). The Brembo HP2000s seem to get fair reviews too

If you are okay with a bit of brake noise (creaking sound at low speed) I have been pleased with Hawk 5.0
Very low dusting, poor initial bite, worse when cold. Once warm, they have a good, predictable linear progression, and they just keep going.

I have the hawk 5.0, after reading mixed reviews I gave them a try, I hate them...

I had the akebonos, they were fine, but really lacked initial bite.

Next up I'm going to try ds2500s in the front and some sort of stock replacement in the rear(single-piston caliper, not many options)

Had Hawk pads before on other cars and the same; hated them. Just no feel at all when cold and that's useless for here in the UK

DS2500s have been my go-to for years; they are dusty, but they brake superbly

If I ever come to needing to changing the brakes on my F31; I think I'll probably go ATE/OEM blank discs & stick with the OEM BMW M3/M4 pads unless the DS2500s come up at a goods price

Front pads - BMW part number: 34116865460
Rear pads - BMW part number: 34216887576

Put them into Autodoc and select ATE; that should bring them up. Whether they're in stock or not I don't know

Has to be worth taking a look at pagids new street range

I’ve run Pagid pads for years and rate them highly. Currently running RSL1 which bite well from cold, have superb performance, very linear response, and just don’t fade (including on track).

They do screech at slow speeds though, and they are dusty.

Pagid RS42 is an alternative option for more street-orientated use, and they don’t screech.

EBC Bluestuff and forget it. Clean rotors front and rear like someone polished them. Stay away from EBC Yellow stuff crap and anything below Yellows. Blues and up from EBC. I have the EBC Orange stuff in my front and no issues over 12000 miles with M3/M4 brakes.
