rear starter bolt stripped n52

I tried using a 11mm and it ended up stripping the rear bolt, i put the E14 back on by hand it still fits snug since I barely stripped the top threads. My ratchets dont fit im getting a swivle head tomorrow and Hopefully it works. Although is it the same process of stripping a oil filter housing bolt by the mickey mouse flange where you can cut the head Of the bolt and that allows you to pull of the housing?

If you have a couple days you can order the e torx wrench set on Amazon. All you need is that e14 wrench.

I ordered some etorx wrenches when doing mine. Please for anyone reading do not try to use other types with e-torx unless they are big like the center support engine brace.

Then again, the cost to cover a set of sockets and wrenches for most all e torx on the vehicle is at most $75 in tools.

Flex head ratchet 3/8 and the E14 socket got it without any struggle.

Not quite the same since it isn’t a lag bolt. However, it would work similarly since he mounting hole in the engine isn’t threaded. Not sure how you would get something back there to cut it off though. Too tight for an oscillating tool and not sure if a cutoff wheel would be too small.

You’d probably have better luck with a small bolt extractor.

Yes, if you manage to snap the head off, the bolt slides out of the hole.

I had this happen once and I drilled a hole through the head of the bolt. I used a chisel and hammer and hit the bolt and the head snapped off. Maybe I was lucky that the whole head snapped off.
