body work done now have dash lights and bad battery

o i took my car in a few weeks ago to get my front bumper hood and grilles replaced and when i got my car back i have a 4x4 light , abs light, and a red brake light, and my sunroof needed to be reset just to open again. My car is a328xi and im now rear wheel drive too. HOWEVER!!!, my battery is also now bad and not holding a charge so im assuming since its 7 years old it is probably bad and just needs to be replaced. does anyone have any idea whats going on. is the car just in limp mode? is the battery the main cause? or do i have a bad servo motor like ive been reading about on the forums

Hmmm I am assuming your car didn't have these issues before your brought it in ?? Maybe ask the body shop what's up with these lights or take it To a BMW dealership they can diagnose it easily

Dissconnecting the battey causes those errors.

They are usually temporary though .
Driving the car resets them in most cases (and not that far)
Also working on the car with the doors open causes the car to remain
awake discharging the battery . Just having the key near it will do the same I believe.
You were probably about due for a battery if the car is 6 years old but they stressed it and finished it off.
Have you tried putting a trickle charge on the battery .
When BMW does software updates they will put a power supply on the car to avoid this problem as they can take hours to do.

Quite normal for bodyshop to leave doors/trunk open for long periods of time. Your battery is at the end of its life anyway. Get a new one and call it a day.

Your grammar irritates me. It almost surely is your battery.

did you have the car reset with the new battery?

All those lights being on typically sounds like a bad alternator from what I've gathered from others.

But the car would die if it was. I still think its battery too.

When I had to jump start my car after 2 hours of coding, I got a code for "coolant temperature sensor stuck high." drove it around for 50 miles, didn't do anything, cleared it and it hasn't come back (yet).

I'm going to have the shop that did the body work reset them. I would have thought that they would see that everything is now in working order and clear the lights, but I guess the faults don't clear on their own
