Nice of you to rejoin YOUR personal training thread

I made a special effort Thurs/Fri to get the shoulders and back, because I had a massage scheduled for Friday afternoon. She worked and worked and worked the upper back. She had a way of bringing muscles right to the cramping point, then smoothing them out again. She also rubbed out the shins even though I cant normally allow that to be touched.

She didn't seem to get it, but I told her if I worked for KAOS, she would easily be able to get me to talk.

Thanks! It could be tendonitis. Have you had it checked out?

I was on a long time out. It's good to be back.

Good to see that you're still on it Uncle. Massage should be a regular thing, especially when you're a lifter.

At one point it was a guilty pleasure, until I looked at just how much time/money the old lady spends on hair and nails and eyebrows. I found this new masseuse on Groupon and it might be a good match going forward. I got 3 hours for $99, which gives me a better chance at determining if she is the right choice. Some others I tried were just a single massage, and I never went back.

One lady started me with a vibrating sander on my back. Novel approach, but she was plenty strong enough to have done it on her own.

No I never had it checked out. It happened in November after a good bi/tri workout. Took 3 months off to let it recover and it slowly went away. Went hard on bis/tris last night and it's burning like hell right now..

I don't wear long sleeve shirts all that often, but it was the only green I had appropriate for work. I'm noticing that the deltoids and top of the arm are a lot tighter, while there seems to be more room for the lower buttons to get into their slots this morning.

Keep it up and you'll need a new wardrobe. I can also see my calves starting to shape up or maybe it's the knee high socks.
Oh, I took 1 Aleve last night and the 3 almost 4 months of pain in my arm is almost non-present.

Jelly!! I've only gotten down to 193-ish. Maybe it's because I drink more than you?

drink as in alcohol?

i drank a total 3 times so far, i had a beer twice when i went out with my gf for some mexican food (cheat day). i went out few weeks ago on a sat for a close friend bday and had 5-6 beers plus all kind of junk food. drinking is a big no when you are cutting because it usually set you back 5-7 days.

you dont want to cut too long anyway, 20-24 weeks max IMO

Hey sedanclans back! Perfect timing. Maybe some of you gym rats can help me. I've gotten back into working out regularly, 35-45 minutes of cardio and then straight to weights. Lately, after starting weights I've been getting bad cramps in my back. They eventually go away but boy do they suck. Should I be hydrating, stretching etc?

Bend your knees when you lift standing. Just enough so that you transfer to focal point from your erectors to your quads. I'd wager money even your quads are stronger of the two.

I see SO MANY people curling with their knees locked, and MY back hurts just watching them.

Any particular reason why you're wasting so much energy on cardio before you lift? If you're going to do cardio, perform it post-workout.

As for the cramping, which exercises preempt the cramps? You should be stretching/foam rolling and replenishing electrolytes/sodium.

agree. i would spend 10-15 mins max on cardio preworkout just to get my blood flowing and do the rest post workout (if you r cutting).

+1

Use your energy on the weights and use up what you have left on the cardio after.
