Question Water in exhaust flap cable

Hey all,

Recently, I went on a very long drive in the pouring rain. My car has an aftermarket Valvetronic exhaust system, which requires an extender cord because the exhaust flap is located on the opposite side of the exhaust from where it is on a factory F30 and the original cord isn’t long enough. I also have a CG VS-1 valve controller override switch. When I started the car up this morning, The flap was not working. The remote lights were lighting up, but the valve was not opening. I went under the car and unplugged the connectors and the connector from my extension cord to the CG unit had water inside of it. I’m assuming this is the reason that it does not work, most likely fried. I ordered a new extender cord and we will see if I have to replace the CG unit as well.

My biggest concern is that The water may have fried the exhaust flap unit itself that comes out of the car that’s inside of it, is that possible?

Thanks guys!
