Question Weird connector behind lower front grill

Hi!

So i bought my 2021 330e G21 M a couple of months ago, but been wondering for a while now what this connector might be for.
It sits right behind the lower front grill on the left hand side. The connector has 2 wires running to it, 1 red + 1 black. I dont understand either why it has a bag over the connector?

Any ideas what this could be for? Any tips or insights would be appreciated.

I would assume it’s for a feature your car lacks, like adaptive cruise or a front facing camera. It certainly shouldn’t be hanging down though.

I have the S5AU driving assistance package with ACC so thats not it, but the front camera was a good guess. I'll try to do some research. Thanks

The plastic bag though is really strange. I wonder if the dealer removed something to fix another car and forgot to replace it.

Cut the cable tie and remove the bag, then post another photo clearly showing the connector on the end of the cable.

Could it be some part not installed with the supply chain shortage?

BMW would never put a Connector in a bag... air will condese and fill the bag with water ( as it is in your pic) water at a connector will create electrical issues... so bmw/ a pro mechanic will never do this..

Seeing as how you are in a cold climate and the photo shows a thick red cable, block heater seems a reasonable guess. Are these diesel or gasoline cars you have posted photos of?
