Just like any other automaker that instills curiosity amongst the ever so inquisitive auto enthusiasts by revealing its cars in tidbits, BMW has also teased its much anticipated Megacity electric vehicle project. BMW’s upcoming zero-emission Megacity will be company’s first series-production electric-drive model that will hit the market in 2013.
BMW has also revealed that the production version of the Megacity will make extensive use of use ultra-light, high-strength composite carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP). The company boasts of its car to be as strong as steel and weigh half as much as aluminum. The zero-emission, four seater urban car will have a rear-wheel drive and a 150 hp (112 kW / 152 PS) electric motor which is powered by a 35 kWh lithium-ion battery. According to BMW, the Megacity will thus offer a range of at least 100 miles (161 km) and a top speed of 95 mph (153 km/h). BMW has also announced that its Megacity will get another variants with its first model dubbed the ICV (Intracity Vehicle), that we may get to see around 2015. The car will retain the two-door layout, but drop the rear seats. Also after two further years, BMW plans to bring another variant called the UCV (Urban Commuter Vehicle) which will feature extended wheelbase, four doors, and seating for five. Hope to hear more details soon from the German automaker.

I think it looks fantastic - love the front end, wide grills especially (but not sure if they do anything), fat tires - looks like a blast to tool around in if you ask me...
