seriously, none of this has anything to do with what the OP is asking for and he said this many times himself

2nd of all, i can guarantee you 100% that if me and you lined up even if i were on my 20's that your car with your 18's would have no chance to beat me.

3rd this thread was made for people who have 20's not people who have 18's who come in and for no reason start bashing 20's. I can go on and on and on why I will never have 18's on my car unless its on a track.

4th if you like you car looking like a monster truck more power to you!!
1. You can drive 20's off a cliff if you want, drive them anywhere you want- getting 20s is for show only and it is pretty much unanimous that it comes at the sacrifice of acceleration, braking, weight, durability, and ride. Prove us wrong.

2. You obviously don't know shit about me so that statement that you will beat me in a race is QUITE hilarious. Who do you instruct for? How many racing championships have you won? Races? Track records have you set? Been through Skip Barber? Driven the Nurburgring? I'll be ELATED if you can answer yes to any of those. You don't even have an M3 anymore, do you?

3. I did not bash anybody with 20's, find me one post where I told you that you should run 18s. I did however correct your useless misinformation in your personal attack against Radiation Joe which is no better and no more related to this thread than this post that I'm replying to. Even Pumper's on 20's and he disagrees with you.

4. Don't care, it's my car not yours and I love it. Rides beautifully, performs incredibly.

Nobody needs to force another person to share the same view on 18s or 20s. Also, I think they're pretty clear on 18s=Track and 20s=Show .

All valid points fellas...let's leave out the harsh words and abrasive comments. Joe stirred the pot, to each his own, it's his right to do so on an open forum. But as Pumper said...the OP was asking opinions of those who have 20's...and this has gone wayyy off on various tangents. Let's keep it respectful regardless of the differing opinions.

Dude your a clown, i wasn't attacking Joe at all, he came on this thread and started this mess, you or him shouldn't even be here since you guys don't even have 20's but since you all chimed in, you got responses right back.

Hey bro how you been? yea man these 2 just went on and on about the same thing on every single post, but im going to reply back to what they say. In almost all the post i was trying to say that what they were saying has NOTHING to do with the OP's question, and they should have stopped and left it at that, but no!! oh well!! this can go on and on, as long as the OP is happy with his dubs thats all that matters.

By your logic, you shouldn't be on this forum since you don't even have an M3.

To the OP,

Keep in mind that it is really easy to bend 20s since you have to run such a thin sidewall tire. Dolts like Cptn Mo Prolly can't tell or don't care since they're rollin in such style. The single piece wheels like the HREs or BBS CHs are probably your best bet from a strength standpoint. Three piece wheels are generally easier to bend. If you go 3P go big and get the BBS LMs. They're one of the strongest.

Make sure you stay on top of your tire pressures and keep them on the high side to reduce the chance of damage. As others have said earlier in the thread, in-between our little love fests, tires probably make the most difference in ride. I'd stick with the PS2s or Contis for ride. Though, the stiff sidewalls of the Yokohamas, might keep you safer.

Now, back to the personal attacks.

You're such an A-Hole, Joe. But, for some reason, the more pointers you give, the more I'm starting to like you. I was already super happy I got the LMs but your little comment about LMs being one of the strongest made even happier. Thx Joe . Maybe you're not such a bad guy afterall... I can't believe this thread is still going on. As you said, back to the personal attacks!!

No personal attacks, just my 2 cents add to comment above.

No matter 18" or 20's, wheels would get slightly bent by driving on streets for just less than few weeks (let's say in LA or NYC, etc.). HRE would not repair one piece bent wheel, Volks would not repair one piece bent wheel either, none of aftermarket wheel manufactories would. The only place would help you out is local shop. That doesn't matter you are on BBS or HRE or whatever. That doesn't matter you are forged or cast. BUT, that isn't a big deal since we have weight balancer, NOT until they are bent seriously out of spec. In that case, 2 piece and 3 piece wheels are much more easy to take care.
I'm NOT saying that 2 or 3 piece is better wheels. However, they are cheaper and easier to maintain in the long run.

Damn. I just ordered my diamond black LM-R's in 20's but after reading this thread, it's making me feel like I'm not a true M enthusiast. I solely did get them for the look though. Whenever I go to the track, I'll throw on the stock ZCP wheels.

What else can I get? Its just a bunch of people fighting for no reason!!! I got the 20's for looks, not performance. When I want to perform, I'll take off the 20's and put what BMW made the car with. They must know something right?

I'm sorry, but if you get on forums and such just to start shit, nobody wants you in this world of car lovers. Leave arguing and calling each others cars shit for the ricers. I mean, I'm 17 but I'm mature enough to respect the guy with the slammed M3 on 20's just as much as the guy with the stripped, track prepped M3 with 18's. It's so sad that some of us have to put everyone down to feel good about ourselves.

Nice politically correct comment.

I agree with your points to an extent, however, in the real world, a certain amount of sarcasm and negativity goes a long way towards increasing knowledge, perspective and discussion. If I hadn't come in the way I did to this thread, many of the thoughful comments on both sides of the fence would not have come out. The name calling and insults just add some color to the discussion.
