Was curious if anybody has swapped a single big turbo in an f25 X3 and if it is worth it. Seems like it would be kinda fun to have a sleeper X3 and still be able to have the functionality of a mid sized SUV. Curious as to what people think the best turbo setup on the n55 engine and if it would work in an F25 X3.

There's a few people on youtube/on this forum that I've seen do it. It's not super common though. I decided awhile ago that I'm probably going to just leave mine stock.

Now if I move to the next gen X3 M40i... that's a different story.

I could never find a vendor that sells a big single turbo for the F25 N55 X3. I don’t think they exist.

Also the transmission is only really rated to about 400hp, so you would have other upgrades to have to worry about.

Per PURE's website they make turbos for the F25.

Also plenty of people run upgraded turbo(s) on the stock 8hp45 trans.
