F80 /// Motorsport Hardware Stud Kit, Alignment, and TE37SL Install
Hey all,
Just wanted to post a write up on what I worked on this week. Shout out to MineralWhiteF80 for the spec guidance on the wheels and Original aka Masi for working with me on the wheels. Had EAS in Anaheim install the MP HAS kit. I could have done this at home and I’ve done it in the past but I was just too busy. Interestingly EAS left the car at the lowest setting in the front and about half an inch from the lowest in the rear (I never told them what height setting I wanted in their defense). I would end up adjusting the rear to the lowest setting and left the front alone since it was already at the lowest. I called Motorsport Hardware in Huntington Beach and picked up a stud kit with extended black nuts. I went with this kit because they are a local business, a sponsor/supporter of the Bimmer Challange race series and because I also had them on my e46 m3. I opted for 75mm m14x1.25 to m14x1.25 for simplicity and OEM similarity. Below are pics of the stud kit with OEM 666 wheels for anyone looking for a reference of what OEM wheels look like with a stud kit. Note I previously had 10mm FC spacers all around. I left the fronts on since the TE37’s would need them in order to keep a gap between the tire and spring perch/collar from rubbing. That’s why the nuts look deeper in the rear than the front haha. Just in case you thought I didn’t tighten the rears enough. Wheels finally arrived! Gloss black TE37 SL 18x10 +25 square wrapped in Falken RT615k+ 275/35/18. After I mounted the wheels, I was able to take pics of the front to confirm the 10mm spacer was enough and it was. See pic but I also confirmed when it was on the alignment rack. I was able to see from under the car. Took the car to my buddy’s shop, Bullet Performance, in Costa Mesa for an alignment and high temp brake fluid flush (rented out big willow for a private group at the end of the month). Ended at -2.5 in the front and -2.0 in the rear. Love the way it drives. Smoother overall than the 20” OEMs. This is my weekend cruiser and occasional track toy. Anyways, thanks for reading and let me know if I can share any knowledge like others have shared with me! |

Nice wheels! I think you should do some euro blackline clear glass rear tail lights to darken up the back a bit.
Then again, the red now ties to your accent on the black wheels. Also, think we have sister cars

I bought mine with the inspiration from the old 2002 turbo tii https://www.bmw-m.com/en/topics/maga...turbo-e20.html At one point I thought of a throwback wrap with this:
