Sweet! I reached out to David Shroup to get proper instructions for logging - I did notice my WGDC hitting 100 pretty quick after I started paying attention to it.
We'll see what he says. Maybe I need to put a shield in front of it but I really do NOT want to undo this intake LOL |

FYI IAT are down... I ran at about 15-20 degrees over ambient temperatures when at full operating temp prior to the intake. Now I am 10-15. 10 when moving, 15 when stopped and it recovers down to around 10 again. So good news there.
I will have to set it up to full heat soak then see how well it recovers. |

That looks sick. If having it behind the grill causes problems I'll put the filter where MST put it, and then use this to feed the air into that area... I like that. Thanks.

I thought velocity stacks were used for the intake itself e.g. right behind the filter? It seems like a bit of a waste to use it to just funnel air

Maybe, but either way, if it pushes more air it'd be a cool way to funnel air into the air box.

BMW already uses what is effective a velocity stack from the factory with part number 13717577469. You won't see any more air than normal.

And, the volume of air that can go through that pass through was also increased when I used a heat gun to get a 3" diameter tube through it... so there is that too. |

i like the method of using a velocity stack sucking in air through one behind the grill than a cone filter scavenging air from everywhere.. outside..engine bay especially if that intake cone sits right near the radiator and condenser on hot summer days. Purpose of the velocity stack is to have one steady stream of air flowing into the intake pipe. If you disassemble the skunk 2 filter it comes in two parts and is designed right.

It's just REALLY EXPENSIVE. Too bad they didn't do a plastic version, woulda got the same result but they wouldn't make as much $$$. I bet my intake flows just as much as theirs do if not more because of I addressed the Inlet. I really need to edit my intake video.... sorry guys, just been really busy and no one is asking anymore lol. |

Your intake will definitely flow more air. Did you had to do any cutting of the car to get the intake to the front of the radiator? Are you having any problems like BMWdoubles with too much air?
Yeah I would buy the plastic version for a $300-$400 discount off the CF version. |
