335 Loud clanking with throttle
Can anyone identify what this clanking is? It does not sound good. I think it is coming from somewhere around the oil cap.
It starts to come on loud around 2.5k RPM. Is started last night after I cleaned my VANOS solenoids. I was out driving it pretty hard when the sounds started. I though that one of them was making the noise so I got a new one and swapped one out, then swapped the other out when the noise didn't stop. The car is an 08 with 61k miles on it. I have some wastegate rattle that can be heard, but that isn't what I'm talking about. It is the louder sound you can hear when I rev the engine.

Wouldn't that throw codes? I'm reading the codes with INPA, so I should be able to see any shadow codes and stuff too.
It kind of sounds like a piston hitting the valves..... I think I may take it to a local bmw shop in the morning
