How to fix exposed wire
Was changing my oil and noticed this exposed wire around the oil fill cap. Looks like an animal chewed it up? I'm having a hard time finding what it does, but even more unsure on best way to fix it. Any suggestions?

Looks like it's just the yellow wire and it hasn't gone all the way through. You could pull the cable conduit out and then pull the wire out and cut out the damaged section to solder/crimp a new bit in if you wanted. But as the wire itself hasn't been cut I'd probably just get some electrical tape around it, or some self-amalgamating rubber tape which would be thicker and give better protection.
You can then get another small section of cable conduit and push that over the gnawed part then cable tie it in place. Or use self-amalgamating rubber tape to wrap over the conduit for more protection. |

Use liquid electrical tape to seal the wire, add a piece of wrap large enough to go over the original. Then put mouse traps in your garage.
