KW V1's struts blown - options for 335i xdrive

Car is a E90 LCI 335i Xdrive

I've had the dreaded clunking noise coming from the front passenger side now for a few months. After taking it to the shop, they say the strut is shot and the drivers side is on its way too.

I plan to take the KW's off, and send them back to have fixed, but I've heard from several members that the process was a pain and can take anywhere from 4-8 months to complete and KW's customer service is not the best.

In the meantime, I really don't want to ride on my stock springs, especially with spring/summer coming up.

What are the best options? Eibach+Bilsteins? Another Coilover set? I bought my current KW's brand new and have maybe 15K miles on them...

Any advice appreciated!

If you're the original owner and have the receipt, take the KW suspension off, reinstall your oem suspension, send the struts back to KW and have KW repair/rebuild/replace them as they carry a lifetime warranty. That's my opinion, especially if you liked the ride and handling.

I am the original owner, and like the ride/handling of the KW's. I'm just battling with having the remove them for the stock suspension and wait several months for KW to fix things. Would almost rather buy another set while KW repairs the first set and sell them when they get back.

I have KW V1s as we'll and my pass side rear has the clunk too.

Is it possible just to order replacement rear shocks by themselves?

Good question - not sure as I didn't ask KW if possible. They simply sent me some paperwork which I've yet to fill out regarding sending back for repair under warranty.

I had my front two shocks rebuilt by KW this last year. I believe it took about a month to get it rebuilt and sent back out and that was right before Sema.
