Exterior Mods Advice - New Member
Hello All,
I've been browsing this forum for quite some time and decided to join today. I have an awesome deal lined up on a 2008 SG 335i coupe with 30k miles. I've gotten the dealer down 27.5k (which I think is a steal) and now it's time to pull the trigger. Before I do, I was hoping to get an estimate from you all on some mods that I would like to do asap. Basically, I love the car here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/bpgara...o=view&id=3042 I can't PM the person bc I haven't made the minimum posts yet. My questions are: 1. Where can I find good quality M6 replica rims? I saw some on ebay for ~600-700 but wasn't sure if that was the good stuff (it seemed kind of inexpensive). I'm also considering the gunmetal VMRs. 2. Did this person paint his calipers red, or did he get new ones? 3. I did some research and saw that the front aero lip is around 800$ including paint and labor. Is this still accurate? What is the best vendor to buy this from? 4. For the smoked tail lights, where can you get this work done and around how much does it cost? If anyone happens to live in Dallas or Houston, recommendations would be good. Last edited by ishmaelali; 08-05-2010 at 04:46 PM.. |

Smoked tail lights you can install in about an hour or so by yourself. Check out JLevi, they have some good prices on the Depo units, but they are backordered for now.

My suggestion is that you PM dave@wsto. They can get all of that for you as they have for me.
Or call them at 312-566-7767

Thanks very much for all the responses. This will definitely help in my decision making. Upon surfing some more, I found the MTECH front bumper to be pretty cool looking, IMO a little nicer than the aero front lip. Is it still dramatically more expensive and can it be bought alone? I read some threads where it had to be purchased as a set and it ran around 2k (they were pretty old threads though). While I'm on here I might as well state what else I want. M3 side skirts....what is the most reputable brand with best fitment on an e92? Again...thanks guys.

The M-Sport bumper will be more expensive than just the aero lip but we will be debuting an M3 style kit for the E92 that includes the front bumper, sides and rear.

When are you debuting that? That's pretty much what I really want...
I saw one on your site for the previous 3 series but not the e92. What material is it made out of? |
