Urgent Brake Pad Help !! ??
Mid way through doing pads and discs on my 335i on the front for the first time and have found that the brembo eurocar parts pads are different from the OEM ones I have taken out. They do not have the spring clip on them as you can see in the pic on the left.
Is this wrong or can it be fitted without this ?

As it's got the mounting points for the spring clip I'm wondering if it's a manufacturing defect on the brenbos. Try googling the part number to see if images shows the pads with clips on or not.
I wouldn't fit the pads without clips though |

I think the spring clip is to hold it to the pots.
Whether you need it is something someone with more knowledge will know, sorry. |

The youtube vid I've been following on this job for help clearly shows their outer pad with no clip/spring, not the best pic as it's only a screen shot. From my investigations it could be an anti rattle clip, but as it's my first time doing a job I want to cover all the bases and be sure before completing the job.

The outer pad should not have any clips on it, its only the inner pad, or the pad on the piston side which requires the clips.
As Rusty said, someone with more knowledge will know if you need it or not. I would think its not essential as the pad sits into grooves on the calliper if I remember correctly. |

With some excellent and very kind help from Will at TWG in Camberley I got to the bottom of it, the Brembo part number was wrong on the box apparently it is a common problem and he refered me to a guy at Eurocar Parts that exchanged the pads for me. If it helps anyone the correct brembo part no. is 10111083a.
Job done now. Before: After:
